I finished Violets by the River #2. It took about a week to finish from the time I cast on until it was blocked. It went crazy fast. It took about 8 1/2 skeins of Berroco (Cotton Twist I think?) that I bought on clearance from Webs for like $2 a pop. It's huge, silky, and I love it.
And then instead of working on the lace shawl like I should I cast on for another project.

I picked this up at Sheep Street when Jesi and I went last week. It's going to be a cute little baby blanket for my sister's little one, who's due in December.
After what I read here, here, and then here I decided to give the no shampoo thing a try. I was sure that after a day or two I'd hate it and that my hair would be an oily, gross mess. Well it's day three for me and my hair is a little poofy today (which given the humidity is a normal reaction from my hair) but my hair actually feels better and it doesn't look greasy at all. I think I may add some lavender oil when I do the plain water rinse because, despite my husband saying he doesn't, I smell the vinegar just slightly and I feel like anyone close to my hair would too. (Not that strangers sniff my hair, but you know what I mean.) I also tried it out on Lilly, whose hair only gets washed twice a week when she takes baths, and the results on her were instant. I washed her hair Friday night and today it's still pretty, soft, and silky. Usually 24 hours after she's had her hair washed it's a frizzy mess. So I'm rather pleased with the results and I'm going to stick it out myself a little longer since I think my scalp (which I was shampooing every day) needs longer to adjust.
Glad you gave it a try! I'm finding that I need *just* a teeny bit of vinegar in a cup of water - maybe a teaspoonful or so, and then a good rinse. That way there's no vinegar smell. I really love the way my hair feels and acts without the shampoo, which was a bit surprise. I'll have to update with another picture - shiny, very happy hair after over a month of no 'poo :-)
