Sweater for Jim

The holidays are over. Finally.

I'm still working on Ene's Scarf and my next shawl will be the Seascape Shawl.

My mother-in-law bought some beautiful dark green lace weight merino and asked me to make a shawl for her out of it. That was this past summer. (Shame on me, I know.) But in all honesty I was really waiting for just the right pattern and this is it.

It's so pretty. I loooove the ripple effect that the feather and fan edging makes. And like me she's absolutely in love with the beaches of South Carolina so this is perfect.

I also ordered yarn for a sweater for the hubby. I'm going to make Amhra'n Gra' for him. It's Celtic for "love song", how sappy can I get? I let him pick the pattern and the yarn because I really want to make a sweater he'll actually wear.

So picture this sweater:

In this color:

That man of mine has good taste I tell you. I just hope that the dark color doesn't hide the cables too much. And you better believe I'll be borrowing this sweater all the time once it's finished. (After all, I will be the one washing it by hand every time it's dirty.)
