Puppies, shawls, and mittens

I finally got sick of taking pictures with my camera phone and last night I purchased a digital camera. Which means more pictures! And better ones at that! And I may just update on a regular basis!!

First; the newest member of our family. This is Bella. We picked her up from the Humane Society adoption event on December 26th.

She's a 5 month old lab mix and is the sweetest thing. She and Lilly already adore each other. Lilly wanted to name her Biscuit but I wasn't too enthusiastic about that name. We ended up agreeing on Bella.

And now knitting!!! I've made quite a bit of progress on Ene's Scarf.

All that from one ball of the Knitpicks Shimmer. It looks like a mess now but once I preform some magical blocking it's going to be gorgeous.

I also finished a pair of Broad Street Mittens.

Taking a picture of your own hand is not easy. I made them from three different colors of alpaca that I had in the stash. They are warm, soft, and wonderful. The extra long cuff will ensure that no nasty cold winds sneak up my coat sleeves. They still need buttons to secure the flaps so they don't just flop around. Also, it figures that I finished these and we're having 50 degree weather in January. I haven't worn them once.
