Arglye Vest and Snowdrop Shawl Updates

Firstoff, the vest that I'm so embarrassed by, well I have every right to be. It turned out beautiful, but on a massive scale.

See? I told you. The damn thing practically devours me. Don't ask me why I stayed in denial about the size while I knit it. I couldn't tell you. Something should have screamed "NO, STOP!!!!" Before I cut the steeks in it, but my conscience remained quiet.

But now for some good news. The Snowdrop Shawl and I weren't speaking. It has sat in time-out in the bottom of my knitting basket in the family room for the last two months. I wanted to knit the border on it. I had picked up the stitches around the edge and was about 3 inches into it but it just looked wonky. So I put it aside and forgot about it. Last night I needed my size 6 needles and couldn't find them. I searched through my basket and found the plastic ziploc bag holding all that beautiful blue lacewieght alpaca. I went ahead and ripped out the border. And I felt horrible that I had left it lingering in limbo for so long. I washed and blocked it. And I was actually pretty satisfied with it without the border. Then this morning I unpinned it and wrapped it around my shoulders.

Are you ready to see the crappy photos that don't nearly do it's beauty justice?

I am in love. :D

There's a mistake in it that I repeated across a whole row but it hardly matters to me. I totally understand what Stephanie means when she talks about wanting to run out into the street and show strangers. Even my husband, the man who typically uses words like "nice" and "cool" to describe my knitting, said it was amazing.

And the best part? I've got enough of the alpaca left to make a second one. :)
