Today began the last week of Spanish for me, forever. We review tomorrow and take the final on Wednesday. I can't wait to be done. Learning a second language has been the most difficult thing I've had to do. Of course I haven't taken math yet, so my opinion may change.
I've been knitting a little bit. I've finished the first sock for a pair I'm making myself and I've started the sleeve of Jim's sweater. It's been too hot to really motivate me to finish things so I've been distracting myself with reading. I'm on the fifth book of Galbabon's Outlander series now. It's a little over 1,400 pages long so hopefully it will keep me distracted for a week or so. There's one more book in the series to go after this and then in September the seventh book comes out. One of my co-workers has recommended another 6-book series to me (this one is 16th century Scotland instead of 18th) so that should give me something to do between now and September.
My husbeast and I finally broke down and turned on the AC for the first time this year on Friday night. We almost made it until July. There was a good part of my childhood where we didn't have working air conditioning (but we had a lot of fans) so I'm more tolerant of the heat than a lot of people. Jim works outside in it all day which I think makes him much less tolerant of it. So for us to last so long without cranking it on is no small feat.
I hope the humidity won't be so bad in northern Indiana in a few weeks. Because I'm going to Pierogi Fest for my birthday. I've been excited about it for a year now. My husband thinks I'm joking, but I'm not. We're going. And it's going to be AWESOME. :D
