Before

And after

Her hair is so thin and fine it's hard to control. It's a little easier to keep maintained now plus it's super cute.
I'm slowly but surely knitting away. I'm working on a scarf for a professor who is taking a position in St. Cloud, Minnesota in the fall. She's awesome and I'm going to miss her.

I took my inspiration from the plain stockinette scarf that Amy is making. It's pink and brown lace weight alpaca and I knit five rounds for each stripe. It's slow going but it's mindless, which is exactly what I need right now.
I've been working really hard this semester and the resulting exhaustion has been worth it. Tonight the school is having its honors ceremony and I will be receiving not one, but two scholarship awards. So today I'm wearing my grown up clothes to work and I'm going to be a nervous wreck until the ceremony is over at 6pm tonight. After that it's off to a friend's house to party and celebrate the (almost) end of the semester. 2 weeks until it's over and just 3 weeks until I leave for field school.
This morning was rather interesting. Indiana had its first earthquake in who knows how long. I felt it and sat straight up in bed, as did the hubby. I asked him "Was that an earthquake?!?" and he said "I think it's just the wind." So we both laid back down and went back to sleep. Turns out it was an earthquake after all. Crazy.
