Haven't you always wanted a monkey?

Remember this?

Well by Friday night this is what it looked like.

Saturday I started seaming it and by late Saturday evening this is what I had.

He's Lilly's new buddy. I asked her what his name was and she said "Big Monkey". (As opposed to Sock Monkey, which she has one of as well.) I thought she would come up with something a tad more creative, this is the child who named her stuffed dragon Biscuit, but I suppose being literal is a good thing as well.

I used this pattern after seeing it on Monkee Maker. He still needs a shirt but he's pretty cute. Next time I knit this I'll probably go down a needle size because the fabric stretches a lot when you stuff it. The eyes are also just slightly uneven but I can always fix those later. I don't feel like prying him from the clutches of a 2 1/2 year old right now to do it and she doesn't notice those details anyway.

(And if you notice the button on the sidebar, yes I got suckered into the Mystery Stole knit-along. Thanks to the Harlot.)

    Love the Monkey!

I was going to join the Mystery Stole knit-along too, but I have to get my lace knitting under control. Maybe next go around. Good luck!
