Strawberries and a strawberry-haired toddler

Strawberry season is finally here! Yesterday I gorged myself on the sweetest, freshest strawberries, right from my garden. My fingertips and lips were stained red but they were so good. Store bought strawberries are flavorless in comparison. I would have taken photos, but between myself and Lilly they didn't last that long. I'm hoping I'll be able to save enough from the next picking to make some jam and keep it for the middle of winter when all I want is just a tiny little bit of summertime.

Shorty's dog bite is looking worlds better.

It's still a little swollen and, nervous mama that I am, it worries me a bit. So we're going to the pediatrician this afternoon so I can put my nagging little fears to rest. It doesn't seem to be bothering her much, which I suppose is a good sign.

However she has developed the habit of pointing to it and saying "my boo-boo" with the bottom lip sticking waaaay out. How is it that a 2 1/2 year old has figured out how to milk sympathy?

Don't let the sweet, innocent face fool you. I am in for a world of trouble.
