My weekend and Stitches Midwest

Okay, let's take things in order. Friday I got my hair cut.

It's short but I like it. The husbeast said it was "Cute" and if he thought it was really awful he would say so. So I'm pretty happy with it.

Then Saturday was Stitches and it was AWESOME!! Walking through the door was total sensory overload. Color and texture everywhere. Yarn and fiber as far as you could see. It took almost all day to walk through it. We weren't allowed to take photos inside (boooo, hiss) but I can bore you with a few other photos. :)

Touristy photos of downtown taken from the bus.

It was the first time I've ever been to Chicago and my impression of it? Downtown Chicago is big and crowded. It would swallow downtown Indy several times over. We were at the convention center all day Saturday so what I saw of Chicago was pretty much out the window of the bus. I can't wait until Jim and I go together in December.

We finished walking through all the booths around 4:00 and the bus wasn't scheduled to leave until 6:00 so I bought a new pair of Addi's and I cast on for a sweater for Lilly.

It's the lace-up cardigan from Barefoot Knits. It's super simple and is flying along on the needles. I'm almost finished with the back. I'm making a size 4 and I think it will be too big for her to wear this fall but should fit her come spring. The Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece is really nice to work with.

Sunday the husbeast was offered a new job and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll take it. I have a really good feeling about it but I know that I can't pressure him into anything. So when he asked what I thought I just told him what I thought the benefits of accepting the job would be and left it at that. They are willing to start him out at what he's making at his current job so he's really got nothing to loose at this point. He's been wanting a change and I just feel like this is it. So I'm crossing my fingers and toes and I'm hoping this will be what he needs right now.

Did you go on the Mass Ave bus? I thought seriously about it, but had a prior engagement. I should have ditched the prior. I'd love to see Chicago and not have to drive it myself.
