Update where I only talk about knitting, you don't acutally see any

No knitting today. I did finish up a quick project and I'll take pictures soon. I've got some summer tops in mind to make for Lilly and I'm working on a super-secret project. I don't think that the person it's for reads this blog, but they could find it easily enough. So no pictures of that until it's in the recipient's hands.

In other news, my favorite ring broke yesterday. The freaking band snapped.



My husband bought me this ring 6 years ago and it's been my favorite piece of jewelry ever since. (Yes, I love it more than my wedding rings.) After I had Lilly my fingers swelled and they never got smaller so I didn't wear it for a couple years. This past Christmas he got it resized for me and then this happened. I knew resizing a ring could weaken the band but I didn't even whack it on something, I just happened to notice it broke. I'm sort of pissed about it. I'm taking a metalsmithing class in the fall (because I don't already have enough hobbies) so maybe I'll be able to fix it myself.

But in not-so-sucky news look what I found at Target for $1 yesterday.



A package of 6 of the cutest little pencils I've ever seen. I love their dollar section. I wander through every time I'm there and when they have them I buy goofy headbands for Lil. So far she has bunny ears, a flower petal headband, and yesterday we picked up a sparkly red, white, and blue headband that looks like the crown on the top of the Statue of Liberty.

Plus, more good news! My sister is pregnant with her second child! I am so excited. The pattern books have already been pulled from my shelves and I've realized that there are very few gender-neutral baby patterns out there. I'm thinking I'll make Trellis in a cream color. Plus I'm finally going to knit something from the Knitted Toys book. I'm thinking the duck, that's gender neutral, right?
