Long post with a zillion pictures

Be warned that this is going to be a long post full of pictures. If you're just looking for knitting content scroll down to the end.

We arrived in Myrtle Beach on the afternoon of the 12th. We didn't really do much that day. The weather was nice (in the 70's!) and we relaxed.

Lilly really enjoyed walking around without her shoes or socks on. (And watching Daddy make faces at her. That's what prompted the reaction above.) It's almost impossible to keep socks and shoes on her as it is and since the weather was so nice I didn't fight her on it.

The first day we went to the beach it was just me, Lilly, my MIL, SIL, and niece. The beach was an instant hit with Lilly, but the ocean not so much, and she investigated the sand quite thoroughly with her feet.

Mommy did too.

We did some shell collecting.

And then we dug holes in the sand and made sand castles. Or rather I attempted to and she joyfully knocked them down.

And then we looked for more shells. Lilly found one that she really liked and proceeded to explain to me how pretty it was.

That night the grown-ups had dinner at Medieval Times.

Which was pretty cool. I enjoyed it, even though it was a bit pricey.

The next day Jim and I took Lilly back to the beach. With daddy at her side she was fearless and the ocean wasn't scary at all.

However, it was cold.

Daddy wrote her name in the sand

and built some real sandcastles with her.

After that we went to Margaritaville.

Where I did have a cheeseburger and a teeny tiny margarita that cost me $7.50. Jim said we were paying for the atmosphere and I agree. But it was neat. And I bought shirts for me and my dad.

The next day we went to the Ripley's Museum.

They had some really bizarre stuff there. Some pretty cool stuff too, like the Van Gough made out of jelly beans.

Wednesday we went to the Ripley's Aquarium. That was awesome. The majority of it is tunnels under the aquarium and you walk around and there are fish swimming around you in all directions.

Lilly was a little unsure about the sharks though.

But she loved the horseshoe crabs

(as did Jim)

and she really enjoyed sticking her hands in the water to pet the sting rays.

Come Friday we all sort of felt like this

and we were ready to go home.

Now for the knitting content! I managed to almost finish the baby sweater, it just needs some ends woven in.

I cut it really close on this. This is how much yarn I had left.

I also started my second attempt at the Deep V Argyle Vest.

One of my absolute favorite things about this pattern (other than the fact it's knit it the round and has NO SEAMS!) are the 'false' seams.

PLUS!!! Ene's Scarf is done and is blocking on my bedroom floor as we speak.

My blocking wires arrived while I was in South Carolina and I wanted to have this shawl while I was there but refused to block it with pins. So I left it at home and took the Snowdrop Shawl instead. The weather was so nice I didn't even need it.

Whew. I think that covers it. Now if I could just get caught up on my reading.
