Very little progress these days

The Deep-V Argyle Vest is almost done! I cut the steeks and have done the ribbing around the first armhole and slipped it on only to find in horror that it's almost long enough to be a mini-dress. (As in it covers my ass. Barely, but it still does.) Jessica thinks I can block the shit out of it and that it will shorten up. It is Eco Wool, so I may be able to mold it quite a bit. Plus it is really tight, so I pray she's right. The end result may end up wider and shorter. Cross your fingers. Otherwise I'm going to have to perform some sort of Frankenstein-ish surgery on it. Because I love it. And by god I'm going to wear the damn thing.

I haven't really been working on much else. I did start, and almost finish, a garter stitch scarf from the recycled sari silk my MIL bought me last year. I'm loving it. But knitting has been scarce because my carpal tunnel has flared up and it sucks. I have an appointment with a surgeon on the 20th of October to talk about what my treatment options are. My dad had the surgery a couple years ago and said it's no big deal, that it takes less than an hour. But his was for one wrist, mine is in both. I just worry about how much the insurance won't cover.

It's a relief that I've resolved far ahead of time that this year there's going to be very little, if any, Christmas knitting. Last year it was just too big of a hassle. This winter it's all about knitting for me. :)
